I would say that ICC is the event I dedicate an enormous amount of my after school time, and 80% of that time is to plan and practice the cheer. This year, we had about 40 hours in total of practice. Every week, we would meet after school or at night for about two hours to learn the moves from this dance. The last week though, we met for about three hours and it was basically to do it over and over again and improve it as much as we could each time. This was a wonderful experience, where I got to see my friends almost every day after school and have an amazing time while practicing. During the presentation of the cheer, I had the most incredible time and was glad that I got to collaborate with my classmates to make a first-place cheer.

Learning Outcomes: Challenges, Initiative As I heard that the office needed somebody to volunteer as an MC for the community day, This meant they needed somebody to host an event that is held in our school once per month, to make important announcements to the whole school. I immediately volunteered and took this opportunity to challenge myself and improve in public speaking. So I had the amazing opportunity to be one of the two MCs at this week community day. It was my first time doing this job so I was a little bit nervous. It ended up being a great experience, I had so much fun being up there announcing so many interested things to the whole student body.
Learning Outcomes: Strengths/Growth, Challenges, Commitment, Collaboration This summer I decided to apply for the annual FDR Summer Camp, I heard it was a wonderful experience where you interacted with so many kids from different schools of Lima. I was so happy when I found myself opening this e-mail from Mr. Marquez telling me that my application was accepted and that I would be working along with Ms. Desiree teaching English U.S.A. Since I have been working on Meninas, my arts and crafts and bakery workshop, I have been wanting to learn a little bit more about kids and how to deal with them, so this was going to be the perfect opportunity! So, the first thing I learned as a teacher was that it is like being one more student in one aspect. The first week, you are all shy, trying to get to know everybody so that you can start teaching in a better and more dinamic way. On the other hand, I learned that you are the one that decides what the class environment will be like. So, the first week, we tried to do some "ice-breaking" activities to make them feel comfortable with us and with their classmates. As time went by, kids were so happy with the class and with their friends, of course they had a lot of work to do but they really learned a lot each week. It was a wonderful experience to put myself in the teacher's shoes for one month, I learned how hard it is but also how incredible it is to teach others; I was so excited every time I had to plan a lesson for them. By the end of the 4th week, I got so attached to the kids, it was very hard to let them go. I will definitely apply again next year!
Learning Outcomes: Initiative, Commitment As the Activities Commissioner of the SBG, (Student Body Government) my job is to promote events on campus to bring our community together! And since Halloween was coming up, why not do a candy sale? After proposing it to my team, we started planning and working on it. It was a very different and unique event, because you could send candy bags to your friends or favorite teachers, either from you or anonymously; people were very excited about the activity. After a week, we were able to sell 400 candy bags to high school students and we raised 800 soles! The greatest part for me was buying the candies and doing the candy bags, it took us like 8 hours to put one candy of each type in each bag but it was totally worth it! We decided to go to Makro supermarket, which sells larger quantities for a better price and that way, our expenses would be less and our profit would be more. It was really a successful activity for the SBG and an incredible opportunity to bring our community together for an special event!
Learning Outcomes: Challenges, Collaboration, Commitment Last week was the best of all, it was ICC - Interclass Competition. ICC is not a normal week, it is one of 100% adrenaline, excitement, competition, but most importantly fun. One of the best parts of this event is the Cheer Competition that occurs the first day, as an opening of the amazing week. This year, I decided to participate in it. I had no idea how serious it was, I had no idea I was getting into 40 hours of intense practice, I had no idea I was getting into practices every day until night for 1 complete month, but I also had no idea that it was going to be one of the best experiences of my life, sharing a special moment with my friends, but also with the rest of the class, who supported us the whole time. I will definitely join again next year to repeat such an amazing experience!
Learning Outcomes: Challenges, Ethical Actions The last week of July, I went 8 days to a retreat/mission in Huaraz, a small city in Peru. The purpose of this trip was to complete a religious mission, to spread the word about the catholic church. Since this is a very small city, there weren't many churches and a priest only went once or twice per year to celebrate Mass. That's why we were there, a group of 40 girls walking throughout the day, organizing activities for the little kids from the town and of course giving about two Masses per day every day inviting the whole community. As we moved from town to town, walking many and many kilometers, we were always visiting the houses that were on our way and talking to them about the religion. Every day, we walked about 3 hours, 1 hour and a half to get to a new town and the same amount of time to come back. There was one day that we climed the mountain of the city, it took us about 4 to 5 hours to climb it and then come back down. This was all part of the mission and the sacrifices we did. Additionally, the first and the last day of the trip, we walked about 20 kilometers to move from the city to the place we were staying at. All the exercise we did was dedicated to the mission we were doing, even though some of us were really tired, we learned that if we really put our effort, we can make it! We learned to focus and never to give up. We saw how everybody in the town walked these big distances every day, to get to their job, their school and their houses; so we did it to put ourself in their shoes for a week and value what we have.
